Sox win, Celts win, Bruins in the play-offs…… aaahhh, it’s good to be a Boston sports fan.

The Red Sox beat the Tigers today and from what I could see, the Sox finally looked rested and played like the team we remember last year. The nice thing about today was that the players received their $50,000. World Series rings and you know that getting the rings has to motivate the players to charge towards another World Series Title.

For many pro athletes, reaching the top by winning a championship will never be realized. The athletes play hard and push themselves in hopes that they may someday reach the top. Now don’t get me wrong, most pro athletes are making millions of dollars which obviously softens the blow to their egos when they retire without a championship ring in their trophy case. So what is it about the teams that keep winning championship after championship? I’ll tell you. It’s not because one team is necessarily better than the other, it’s because the individuals on the team have had a taste of victory and want it again and again so they push themselves harder than the other teams knowing what it takes to get to the top.

How do teams like the Celtics go from last to first in one season? Talent. Now I’m not saying the Celts are going to win the championship, but it looks like they have a pretty good shot. They’ve gotten this far with their core players and the bench has simply supported the core players. These guys are motivated and have the team chemistry that few teams possess, much like the Red Sox and the Patriots. So here we are with three incredible sports teams and on the verge of being the greatest sports city in the country. I know, I know, only if the Patriots had won the Superbowl, the Celts do in fact win the Championship and the Bruins pull off some type of miracle on ice and win the Stanley Cup, only then would we be able to call Boston THE GREATEST SPORTS CITY IN THE COUNTRY. Maybe even the world. All I know is, all good things must come to an end so I say enjoy the ride while it lasts and stay tuned.
